Reviews of Villa Fantese

Puglia - Italian Gem...but don't tell everybody!

5 of 5
Puglia is unique and a stunning area to stay....so many places to visit.

If thats not enough then Contrada Fantese is one of the best villas we have ever stayed in...and we've done many! First of all the building itself...just look at the photos. But it is so well equipped inside and the pool and outdoor area perfect for a family holiday....and you can use the pizza oven !

Sharon is a perfect host - very helpful in the run up and clearly very attentive and proud of her wonderful property. Also, with really top Wifi connection leaving all the kids happy and the Grown Ups pretending to do local research but picking up their work emails!

A great week - wish we'd booked two

Simply Charming

5 of 5
Our family had the most wonderful week in Contrada Fantese recently. Plenty of room for all nine of us to have space of our own as well as wonderful communal spaces. The lovely outside table where we spent most of our time, lazing over long lunches and dinners and watching those frolicking in the pool, was a particular hit! It was fantastic and well set up for children of all ages. The beds are huge and very comfortable. The kitchen well equipped with everything you need including large platters and a giant fridge. Both the owner and the caretakers who live nearby couldn't have been more helpful. It is also very close to Cisternino which is a charming town with delicious food. I totally recommend this villa to anyone wishing to experience Puglia and all its charm.

An enchanting place to spend our family holiday in

We had a wonderful time at this lovely spot - the house was full of character and the architecture fascinating. But the pool and garden really stole our hearts and we spent many happy hours there. The huge shaded garden table was also a great bonus. Had fun making pizza in the pizza oven one night. Enjoyed fabulous weather and wonderful sunsets.

A great place to stay!! Highly recommended!

We have been a week in this marvelous house in Puglia with 12 persons. It was perfect!

A warm welcome from the housekeeper Paolo and his friendly wife (they live next door and are Always at your service).

A large house, enought space inside for the evenings and more than enough space around the swimmingpool. The beds were comfortable, there were 3 bathrooms, fully equipped. Near the swimming pool was a large table and around the swimming pool more than enough beds to enjoy the sun.

The house is situated a few miles from the centre of Cisternino (5 minutes by car) and close to all kinds of interesting places, like Alberobello, Martine Franca, Locorotondo, Ostuni, Lecce, Bari and so on. Enough to see! In other words: this house is a great place to stay!!!!! family van Oostrom from the Netherlands

Fantastic family holiday - we will be returning!

5 of 5
Our family of 5 adults spent a fantastic week in June at Contrada Fantese. This charming Trulli conversion has been completed to a very high standard – combining original features with top quality accommodation.

This villa is superbly equipped – both inside and out. We made full use of the large pool, table tennis, hammocks, sun loungers, BBQ and pizza oven. The kitchen has absolutely everything needed to make full use of the fabulous local ingredients - a supermarket within a few minutes’ drive supplied everything we needed to try out some of the tempting recipes we found.

The bedrooms are light, spacious and airy –with top quality beds and linen. Should you wish to stay in there are DVDs, games and a comprehensive library of books – the owners have thought of everything!

If you can be tempted to leave the villa there are many sights to see within a short drive – the nearby town of Cisternino was a favourite with beautiful views and great coffee and ice cream. Ostuni and the beach are also within an easy drive.

We left with some lovely memories – determined to return for a longer holiday! Highlights were home-made pizzas, fabulous local food and wine and the lovely surroundings of this beautiful villa. Something for all the family with the reassurance of support from the owner and neighbours if needed – perfect!

Trulli amazing

5 of 5
Classic Trulli Farmhouse adapted to holiday property . Outside pool well maintained. Paolo and Imma next door manage the property and were immense when we had any problems, and sorted issues in double quick time.

Lovely location in downtown Italy -- lots to see and do. Coast 25 mins away. Local produce and restaurants all recommendable. No hesitation in recommending the property.

Beautiful setting, clean and tidy.

5 of 5
The setting of the trulli was very peaceful and the house was clean, well furnished and well looked after. The pool was wonderful and the weather great. The house is not easy to find without very detailed directions, so make sure you get these before leaving your home! The outside area is spacious and incredibly relaxing, and Paolo and Imma ( the neighbours) are very helpful. There are a wealth of nearby little town which are perfect for mid morning coffees, strolls and ice creams. In the evening, Cisternino is gorgeous and having a drink in one of the bars or restaurants is wonderful. In the evenings, the light is magical. A relaxing, restoring holiday!

Truly Lovely!

The listing description given is spot on so no unwelcome surprises. The trulli is very unusual and wonderfully cool. It is very well-equipped and comfortable although the beds are quite high! Paolo and Ima were very helpful as was the excellent welcome file. The pool area is perfect with a very pretty garden around it. We had not been to Puglia before and the position of this trulli was excellent as all the major towns are within easy distance and the closest, Cisternino, is lovely. We discovered rather late in the day that our hire car had sat nav which would have helped a lot in getting to the trulli at night, particularly if you can change the language to English! We would thoroughly recommend this to other visitors.

A Trulli Memorable Honeymoon....

5 of 5
We were lucky enough to of been given a two week holiday at this wonderful Trulli house in Cisternino, We were due to arrive early evening however our flight was delayed leaving London and we arrived just after 2100. We decided before we left not to hire a car as no one wanted to drive and we literally did just want to get lost in relaxation. Before we left we had arranged a taxi from the airport to Bari Centrale (20Euro) we then boarded the train to Fasano, this takes you down a beautiful coastal line where you can sit and watch the sunset over the Adriatic, Beautiful! When we arrived in Fasano we were met by our prebooked driver who then transferred us to the house in Cisternino, (30Euro) all in all a great way to start the honeymoon. As I mentioned earlier we arrived at the house just after 2100, we were met by Imma & Paolo who welcomed us and showed us around the house which was wonderfully lit up and the pool looked very tempting even at that hour! They then wished us good night and if we had any issues at all we were to contact them across the road. Once we had opened the bottle of wine that was left as part of our welcome pack (and very palatable I must add) we set about using a sat nav to find our bedrooms…. This was another fun task as the rooms are all wonderfully equipped and as I can now say EXTREMELY comfortable. All of the bedrooms have huge beds and even at the time of writing this review I still miss it!

The kitchen area is fully equipped for everything you could need to provide a dinner party for 20, the utensils were all appreciated that’s for sure! We spent most evenings out on the patio eating drinking and most of all laughing. We made some very good friends in the shape of Spillo and Pallino who are two beautiful dogs living in the same Contrada. Over the two weeks we took them out of their accommodation and let them run and play with us. Very very rewarding it was to see them enjoy us and the sun.

We went to the local market on a Monday and bought lots of fresh produce to cook with and make pizzas with, another great experience. The local Supermarkets Olive (in Cisternino opposite Upal the Wine outlet) and Punto (the end of the road) are both very well stocked but personally I felt Punto was the best not only for location but you were able to move around it freely as opposed to move round relatively cramped aisles.

The beach is very close and perfect to finish the tan off!

Perfect Holiday Villa

5 of 5
The villa is even more beautiful than the pictures.

We arrived with our family, total of 8 people. The villa was perfect.

Very nice bedrooms and a perfect kitchen (we love to cook) and everything was there...everybody was feeling at home....

Even for a picnic at the beach...everything you need it's there..Coolers, plastic cups..all.

Our children love the tv room...for the last hour before sleeping.

The garden was very nice and the pool was a bit cold but we all went for a dive.

The outside stone oven was (with a little help) our stove for the hole week. We lived like the Italian. Herbs and fruits, you can just pick them fresh out the garden.

Dear Sharon, thank you for sending all our thinks we forgot to take home!

If you want to have a great holiday with friends or family..this is the place to go!!

Just 20 minutes drive to the beach and nice town and markets. The local people are very helpful and nice. They all try to speak english to be at our service.

A great place!

Fantastic villa in peaceful and beautiful surroundings. All facilities in good shape, clean and well maintained. The local facility service was friendly and efficient, although almost no English was spoken. Close to several genuine and charming small towns with excellent food, shopping and sights. This is a great place to relax and have a good time with your family or friends.
